About NZQA.toasting.me
Independent NCEA past papers archive — not NZQA
NZQA.toasting.me is an independent archive of NZQA assessment materials designed to provide fast, reliable, and ad-free access to past papers, exemplars, and schedules. It is maintained and hosted by an individual developer. The platform is created for students, teachers, and learners seeking a simple and accessible way to study.
This site is not affiliated with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), and all materials are sourced from their publicly available resources. It is operated voluntarily and provided free of charge.
The archive mirrors NCEA exams, answer schedules, exemplars, achievement standards, assessment specifications, and related files, plus Excellence / Merit / Achieved / Not Achieved rates where NZQA published them. Browse by subject and level, or jump in with a five-digit standard number such as 91524.
The copy used by this website is current as of January 2026. An August 2026 update is coming soon. NZQA usually drops a large batch around January, with extra updates during the year if a lot of new resources appear. For the official publication, still check nzqa.govt.nz.
Start on Home with a subject, or open Search (beta) and type a subject, year, or standard number — for example english l3 exam from 2022 and 2024 with answers or 91524. Optional shortcuts include subject:Physics, level:3, year:2023, and type:exam. Browse lists every subject that has files. Attainment shows grade-band percentages for a standard, not how many students sat it.
Machine-readable maps of this archive live at /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt. The same papers are available through the archive API (docs, OpenAPI) and MCP at api-v5-nzqa.toasting.me/mcp. Assistants should look up a standard or paper rather than inventing one.
Who sponsors this site?
This archive is sponsored by rebuilt.nz. rebuilt.nz is not affiliated with NZQA and does not control or influence the content presented here.
Is this site affiliated with NZQA?
No. NZQA.toasting.me is an independent project and is not endorsed by or officially connected to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Will there ever be ads or paid features?
This site is and will remain free to use. There are no popups or paywalls, and while sponsored content may appear in the future, it will always be clearly marked and will never affect access to educational materials.
Is any of my personal information collected?
We do not collect names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information by default. However, we do collect IP addresses and general location data (e.g., city or country) through analytics tools to monitor traffic and ensure site performance.
How is my progress saved?
Favourites, filters, and display preferences stay in your browser's localStorage and never leave this device. The site also keeps an anonymous archive session (not a login) in localStorage and first-party cookies so papers keep loading after a refresh. That session is not used for advertising.
What about the contact form?
We provide an optional contact form for users to submit questions, feedback, or general queries. This form is powered by Google Forms. Users may optionally provide their email address for a response, but it is not required. No form submissions are publicly visible or stored in any database connected to this site.
What is the API at api-v5-nzqa.toasting.me?
api-v5-nzqa.toasting.me is the archive API this site uses (version 5). It serves subjects, files, search, and attainment rates. Assistants can use the MCP endpoint on the same host, or the OpenAPI document at /openapi.json. The dataset is current as of January 2026. An August 2026 update is coming soon.
